Opening Night - Power Ballad
Thursday April 9, 2026 7:30pm - 9:10pm MST
Don't miss the legendary Phoenix Film Festival Opening Night Premiere Event. We kick off the evening in the PFF Party Pavilion with food tastings from some fantastic restaurants. In addition to the great food, you can enjoy a beverage, a little music, and join in the bidding on our Silent Auction. When you stop by the silent auction, be sure to ask where you can see the full selection of auction items and how to place your bids!

The best part is that the Opening Night Premiere Event supports the educational programs of the Phoenix Film Foundation. So you can join in on the party and grab some tasty food while supporting a great cause at the same time!

The party starts at 6:00pm. After the party, guests will transition from the Party Pavilion to the Harkins Cine Capri Theatre for the screening of PFF’s Opening Night film - Power Ballad.

POWER BALLAD
Run Time: 100 minutes

Directed by: John Carney
Cast: Paul Rudd, Nick Jonas, Peter McDonald

Synopsis: When Rick (Paul Rudd), a past-his-prime wedding singer, meets fading boy-band star Danny (Nick Jonas) during a gig, the two bond over music and a late-night jam session. But when Danny turns one of Rick’s songs into the hit that reignites his career, Rick sets out to reclaim the recognition he believes he deserves - even if it means risking everything he cares about. From writer-director John Carney (Sing Street, Once), this is a feel-good story about music, self-respect, friendship, and the price of ambition.
